MVJB Summerfest
The Martha's Vineyard Jazz and Blues Summerfest is the finale festival stop on the summer schedule of major music events and happenings in New England.
Summerfest is a production of Lewis and Kirk Expeditions, Inc. d/b/a Lewis and Kirk Music, a women and minority owned music production and performance enterprise. In the past 11 years, Summerfest has played host to music lovers from all over the United States and Europe because of its ideal setting at a vacation destination in North America, that's all together tranquil, vibrant and intoxicatingly beautiful.
Summerfest has come to be known as one of the best music events in the country celebrating women in the jazz, blues and contemporary arts. A great effort has been made to present a festival that is also family-friendly.
Supporting breast cancer awareness
Like its producer, a stage-two breast cancer survivor Summerfest made a great comeback in 2011
after a year on hiatus. Today, a portion of proceeds continues to support regional breast cancer
initiatives.
